Elfwood, what happened?

Mon May 11, 2009, 12:47 AM
Back in my innocent pre-deviantart days, I frequented the art website, Elfwood. I wasn't a member, but I spent many an hour perusing fan art for The Lord of The Rings, and leaving obnoxious comments, under all sorts of names which seemed cool at the time. The only one I still use is my current name, Faerie in Combat Boots (though to my chagrin, someone else stole my name on FF.net and spelled it differently).
But I digress.

So I haven't been to Elfwood in awhile, but today I went, in hopes of finding some old fanart I hadn't seen in ages.
Everything is changed around. I can't even recognize the damn site anymore, it's lost it's charm and appeal. The search didn't work, nor did the guided tours. At least not on my computer. Elfwood, which once had a rustic charming feel to it, now seems cold, modern and complicated.
It seems every cool website gets corrupted and Elfwood is just another victim of this epidemic.
I will write more on this cancer of the internet in my blog, at blogspot. If you really want to read it, ask me and I will give you the link.

And my mood? Has nothing to do with this.

  • Mood: Confused
  • Reading: Tipping The Velvet by Sarah Waters
  • Watching: Aqua Teen Hunger Force

Kway! Doni gedowiozin? :3
I recognized kway as hello (though I was sure it was spelled with an "i") Does the rest mean how are you?
I'm a little rusty on the language yet. I know how to say hello and Connecticut River, which is Kwinetegok.

the letters and vowells are interchangeble. The rest means how are you doing. :) I'm pretty bad at speaking the language, but i can read it.

I totally blame the French with their multiple useless vowells! :P
When I do speak it (what little phrases I know), it feels utterly natural and comforting, doesn't it? Any Native American language is beautiful.
BTW, my nephew arrived on January 19th. Sometime tonight, I'm going to wrap him up in my dancing shawl to better acquaint him with his Native Heritage.
